About Us

Hey, we're Jess & Craig.

We are, and always will be, advocates for doing your day your own way. Let's stick the middle finger up to people pleasing and other peoples expectations and instead focus on having a blast whilst capturing those moments of pure, unfiltered, kick-ass, unapologetic joy. We believe being untraditional, unconventional and creative in our approach is the magic formula to forever encapsulating the authentic emotions, natural reactions of your tribe and essence of your entire celebration. We've been together for 11 years now and together make the perfect team!

How it started

I (Jess) had previously studied photography at college and then further took a foundation degree at Staffordshire university but then life got in the way and I found myself working as a support worker. It wasn't until a relationship breakdown (and also a mental breakdown) I met Craig and shortly after began working at his tattoo studio as a receptionist. During the lockdown of 2020 Craigs tattoo studio was forced to temporarily close leaving both him and me home with nothing to do!

Craig brought himself a little DSLR off eBay to practice some macro photography. As a through and through creative, he got pretty frigging good at it pretty frigging fast. Then, when a mate asked him if he could take some pictures of her family once the lockdown lifted, Craig went along and in his own words "felt a bit out of depth". Me, seeing him struggle, being the kind, helpful and not at all naggy lil angel I am tried to gently advise but was met with "tell you what, you f****** do it then!".

Craig having a massive paddy was the catalyst to Third Eye being born. Once that camera was in my hands something in my brain clicked and the chemistry was changed. I completed the family session and the rest is history. From there I offered shoots to friends (very ropey) and gradually as my confidence grew took on weddings. Initially solo but with Craig now joining me for full day weddings as a 2nd shooter (but he really is so much more than that, our past couples will tell you what a gem he is). He also has his own tattoo studio in our home town of Stone and has been a tattooist for 16 years. (Check him out on instagram- Entity Tattoo Studio). Whilst he's doing his day job tattooing in the studio, I'm doing all the editing and admin work for the photography business at home.

We absolutely love working together. It's something we've done for years even before the photography and we're at the point now we can communicate on an almost telepathic level which is dead handy when I'm eyeballing him for to get a certain shot.

wE WON'T DO YOU DIRTY.

Let me take you back to 2017 and me and Craig decided to do a runner to Gretna as planning a big wedding and worrying about seating plans was stressing me tf out. Our wedding package at Gretna came with a photographer assigned to us by the council and we weren't able to choose our own (first red flag). We didn't know his name or what company he worked for. On the day, we were clicked at, shouted at and I don't think apart from being barked at to "smile" were given any form of prompting, direction or even conversation. We were told we'd get pictures in an album ready for us the very next day (second red flag). I knew they weren't going to be great but the crushing disappointment was real and we've genuinely not looked at them since.

It's this that fuels me. This experience and how I felt on the day that has shaped me into the Wedding photographer I am today and in turn, made me do the literal opposite of that guy. We pride ourselves on the feedback we've received from past clients about how at ease they felt around us and fun we made their day.
