Hi, I’m Jess Blakeman.

I am 30 year old photographer, wife and mum from a small town called Stone in Staffordshire, England. I love being outside in nature, by forests, lakes or the ocean, metal music and History.. I’m heavily influenced by the beauty of the natural world, the colours of the earth, moodiness of the sky and stillness of the forest. I try to incorporate these elements in all of my shoots. You can expect my work to be rich and earthy. If you’re looking for a light and airy photographer I’m not your woman.

My love of photography started during my 16th year earthside when I embarked on a photography BTEC at my local college. From there I then went on to study on a foundation degree in Photography and Digital media. Unfortunately, Life got in the way and I threw myself into various different jobs to support myself including waitressing, a children’s party host, and supporting adults with learning difficulties and more recently managing my husbands tattoo studio. During the first 2020 lockdown, life as we all knew it came to a standstill. I had all this time away from work and found myself gravitating back to photography to keep my brain busy. From there it grew and grew, the fog lifted and I was able to clearly see what it was I wanted to be doing. I’m well equipped to working with children, as well as my previous employment experience I’m a mum to two young children (and step mum to a teenager) so have all the patience and silliness in the world to put your child at ease and make shoots fun for them. I love what I do and can’t wait to see where it takes me.
